Puertorican Condiment:
The puertorican condiment is what gives puertorican food the great taste. You can find this ingredients in any cuban market here in L.A.
Sofrito & Recaito Goya
1 bunch Cilantro leaves (recao) culantro
oregano
black pepper
cillantrillo
Sazon Goya con achiote
Adobo Goya (salt)
2 cubitos Knorr
Garlic
1 Onion
1 Tomato
8 Olives
1 Red Pepper, green bell peppers, sweet bell peppers,
Half spoon of each: Oregano, Basil, Parsley ( a little of all spices, especies)
2 spoons of Olive Oil
2 spoons of Vinegar
2 spoon of Catsup
Mix all this ingredients on a mixer. Refrigerate. You can put it on the chicken, or any meat, or rice, to add good flavor....
Puertorican Rice: Arroz con habichuelas y maiz:
5 spoons of Puertorican condiment
2 cups of rice
1 can of tomato paste
1 spoon of olive oil
1/4 of sazon Goya
1 can of Red Beans
1 Can of Corn
1/2 cup of water
Put the 5 spoons of puertorican mix in a casserole with a spoon of olive oil, a can of tomato paste & a quarter of sazon Goya. Add a can of red beans & a can of corn both with their water, Then add 2 cups of rice & half cup of water on high temperature until dry. Then put it in low & cover it. Move it every 15 minutes until soft & ready.
